For Writers

Balkanalysis.com welcomes new writers. If you have an idea for a story, please send an email containing a one-paragraph description of the proposed article, a short biography, and links to other published articles to us at: contact AT balkanalysis.com.

While at present we do not pay for articles, experience has shown that those who write for us have benefited in numerous unexpected ways from the exposure that they receive by being seen on our pages. Some examples include new writing opportunities in other related media, requests for speaking engagements, academic rewards and even new jobs.

Aside from regular feature articles, we are currently looking for new contributors to the Security & Intelligence Briefs section of the website. Researchers and journalists who have expertise in any aspect of the security/intelligence/defense areas on topics relevant to the Balkans are strongly advised to contact us.

Contributors will be responsible for submitting 1-2 short items of fairly exclusive information in these categories per month, which are then used at our discretion in the creation of new Briefs. In return, we plan to offer SAIB contributors a special biographic listing on our “About Us” page. The combination of exposure for contributors and enhanced quality Briefs will be mutually beneficial and help attract more clients from our select audience of NGOs, diplomats, military, governmental, commercial and diaspora organizations.
