Ioannis Michaletos is Balkanalysis.com Research Coordinator for Greece, and an independent analyst in Athens, covering issues ranging from political, security and energy-sector developments in the region to intelligence, counter-terrorism and organized crime.
Ioannis’ specific areas of expertise include hydrocarbon investments and project implementation in the Balkans, and renewable energy projects in Greece; organized crime networks in the Balkans, and extremist groups, ranging from radical anarchist and right-wing entities to Islamist movements; regional defense sector procurement and the balance of military powers, as well as the Greek political scene.
Currently, Ioannis Michaletos is a security and energy affairs analyst at the Institute for Security and Defence Analysis in Athens.
