Balkanalysis.com Briefing with Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia and Turkey, March 2011

Skopje, Macedonia– On March 5, 2011 Balkanalysis.com Director Chris Deliso participated in a briefing with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia and Turkey (MATTO/ Makedonya-Turiye Ticaret Odasi, or Stopanska Komora na Makedonija-Turcija in Macedonian), near the end of a five-day fair on Turkish Export Products at Skopje’s International Fairgrounds (SAEM).

In the briefing, MATTO Chairman Tuna Eyüp Kahveci specified the role his organization had played in visualizing and actualizing the event- the first of its kind to be held in Macedonia. The successful nature of the event, which drew upwards of 10,000 visitors to see the offerings of 54 Turkish firms active in a variety of sectors, means that its reprise in 2012 will surely involve a larger array of Turkish companies.

In the briefing, the MATTO chairman discussed the issues affecting Turkish business perceptions of the Macedonian market, and specified the sectors having the most potential in future, both for Turkish exporters to Macedonia and for Macedonian firms seeking to export to Turkey. Mr Kahveci also stressed the vital role of Turkey’s Foreign Trade Office in supporting the event.
